Payer Terms
Draft terms for paying, subscribing, buying products, claiming tickets, and managing guest payments through Atmosphere Money.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Payer Terms apply when you use ATM to send a payment, tip, subscription, product purchase, ticket purchase, free ticket claim, guest payment, or other checkout.
They supplement ATM's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, the Ticket Terms for ticket purchases and free ticket claims, and any terms shown by the app, seller, creator, organizer, event, or payment processor involved in the checkout.
2. What you are buying
ATM provides checkout, payment status, payment records, receipts, subscription management, app webhooks, and proof systems. The creator, organizer, seller, or app is generally responsible for the product, service, event, ticket, subscription benefit, description, delivery, support, refunds, and legal compliance unless ATM expressly says otherwise.
If you buy through an ATM-owned app, that app may provide additional support or policies. If you buy through a third-party app, that app may also have its own terms, privacy policy, fulfillment rules, and support process.
3. Payment processors and Link
ATM uses Stripe for launch payment processing. If you use Stripe Link, card wallets, bank payments, or other Stripe consumer services, Stripe's Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy may also apply.
Payment approval, payment method availability, wallet availability, Link availability, bank authorization, fraud checks, and processor errors are controlled by the processor, card networks, banks, wallets, and your device/browser environment.
4. Guest and signed-in payments
You may pay as a signed-in Atmosphere user or as a guest where the app and checkout allow it. Signed-in payments may be associated with your DID, handle, ATM dashboard, app account, private ATM ledger, and public AT Protocol records where supported.
Guest payments may rely on email for receipts, subscription management, ticket delivery, and support. Guest subscription management links sent by email are single-use and expire within 24 hours of being issued; a new link can be requested when needed. If you later sign in, ATM may not automatically attach every historical guest payment to your Atmosphere account unless a supported claim or verification path exists.
5. Subscriptions and recurring payments
If you start a subscription or monthly support payment, you authorize recurring charges at the displayed amount, cadence, recipient, app, and payment method until the subscription is cancelled, expires, fails, or changes according to the applicable flow.
You may manage supported subscriptions through ATM, a guest management link, the originating app, or a processor-provided customer portal where available. Changes to amount, payment method, cancellation, or renewal timing may take effect immediately or on the next billing cycle depending on the payment flow and processor rules.
6. Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
Refund and cancellation policies may vary by creator, organizer, seller, app, product, subscription, ticket, event, jurisdiction, and processor. ATM may provide refund or cancellation tools, but ATM does not guarantee a refund unless a specific product flow or law requires it.
If you dispute a payment with your bank or payment provider, ATM, the seller, the app, or the processor may need to share information about the payment, product, ticket, subscription, fulfillment, messages, receipts, and account activity to respond.
7. Public records and sharing
Some payments can create public AT Protocol records or social posts. Public records may show payment metadata such as payer or recipient references, payment type, amount, currency, cadence, public catalog references, or proof status. Private contact, card, fulfillment, shipping, tax, QR secret, and processor information should not be placed in public records.
If an app offers a share flow, review the text before posting. You are responsible for content you choose to publish to an AT Protocol app or other social surface.
8. App and recipient access to your data
ATM may share payer, buyer, guest, subscription, order, ticket, fulfillment, receipt, support, refund, and dispute information with the recipient and originating app when needed for checkout, fulfillment, support, fraud/risk handling, refunds, tickets, reporting, or proof status.
ATM should not give apps or recipients your raw card number, bank account credentials, full payment credentials, unrelated payments, or unrelated ATM account data.
9. Prohibited use
You may not use ATM to make fraudulent, unauthorized, illegal, sanctioned, abusive, deceptive, or prohibited payments. You must comply with ATM's Acceptable Use Policy and applicable processor rules.
ATM may cancel, refund, restrict, or block payments if ATM believes a checkout, account, payment method, app, recipient, product, ticket, or event is unsafe, unlawful, fraudulent, unsupported, or processor-restricted.
